Post #3 - NYC Street Style

Winter is always a time when the fashion elite break out their most lavish furs, but season after season, fur coats can get old. This season, I saw lots of fur accents as opposed to full on coats, whether it be sleeves, hats, or the sides of sunglasses (Alex Wang...) Stalking the shows this season, I particularly saw lots of fur-lined hoods, like these:

Post #2 - Key Trend For Fall

This week was really busy for me, as I ended up sneaking into 12 shows this fashion week. Particular trends I noticed were fur sleeves, harnesses, midi-skirts, oversized silhouettes, and ethnic influences. Many of the looks this season were styled with knee-high (at least) boots; many of my favorite New York designers showed interesting interpretations.

Alexander Wang was inspired by suffocation this season, and his boots came sleek and shiny.

Altuzarra's collection (my favorite so far this season) took cues from Morocco and India. His boots were reptilian.

Proenza Schouler's boots were flat and kind of resembled wellies. I really hope someone wears these to Bonnaroo. Rodarte's collection recalled the Australian outback. The heels of the shoes were either a series of metal joint-like pieces, or glass filled with color-blocked sand. Seriously.

Rumi Neely's blog Fashiontoast is great. I love her personal style, her trip reports are great, and her photography is beautiful. She also loves Givenchy.
